DRIVING - A Necessity Or Not?

DRIVING...Is it a necessity or not? Well the answer would be it depends on where you are. Just like in the Philippines, it's not really that much necessity because there are lots of other public transportations you can take like taxis, jeepneys, buses, tricycles, etc. You can go anywhere and anytime you want because such transportations are everywhere. It's even so much expensive to own a car so most people there can't afford to have one so what's the use of learning how to drive when you can't have car to use right? That's a pretty simple logic. But for other countries like United States wherein you can only have few public transportations to choose from then basically knowing how to drive is a big necessity. Why I said that? Because I experienced it. I don't know how to drive a car so it's hard for me to go anywhere and anytime I want. There are even jobs wherein the employers required you to have your own reliable transportation and valid driver's license. So even I might be qualified with other basis but for sure I can't meet such requirement since I don't know how to drive. Technically I will not be hired unless they will consider my situation and will hire me even without meeting such thing. It's also hard when applying for a job which is the main reason it's very comfortable for me to apply online. The only problem I have is when there will be job interviews because I need to talk to my husband or my friend first if they can give me a ride for such day and time of the interview or else I will not be able to make for such job interview unless it's just so near to our house wherein I can just walk or ride a bus. Such thing also limits my possibility to have choices of work and where I want to work. You know it feels like I am a paralyzed person. Even I want to do something or go somewhere but my body will not allow me to do such thing. That's the case of not knowing how to drive in a country like United States. I am starting reading the driving manual so I will be able to take the knowledge test and need to pass it to get instruction permit then I will be allowed to start practicing on how to drive. When I will be confident enough to drive a car then I will take the driving test hoping I will pass it to have a Driver's license.

Therefore I strongly recommend for those who want or are planning to come to United States, you better learn how to drive while you are still in your country. It might be much cheaper to do it there because it will cost you atleast $345 to enroll in a driving class here. It is also much easier to do it there since it needs to have a good weather to be safe in learning how to drive. You can't practice driving when it's snowing because the road will be so slippery. You still need to wait to have a good weather or it's summertime to practice driving to make sure the road is safe to drive on. Better take this advice seriously if you want or plan to come here in the U.S. or in other country wherein driving is a necessity so you will not experience what happened to me.
