Hi everyone. I want to tell you about my job interview today.
I found such job opening online. So I went to that place which is just 5 minutes away from our home or 15 minutes by bus and grabbed an application form. I filled it out and submitted it the next day. Yesterday I got a call that I will have an interview today at 10:30am. I was so excited upon hearing that hoping the interview will be great then they will hire me.
I got up so early today and prayed that the interview will turn out to be great asking Him if that's the company and the job He prepared for me after such previous bad experience then let them hire me but if not then they will not hire me coz there's a better job still waiting for me. Then I left the house by 9:45am and took the bus. I got there by 10:15am coz along the way I passed by another business so definitely I submitted my resume. When I got there, I've waited for few minutes then the interviewer asked me to go to her office. She started telling me that she used to live in Angeles, Philippines coz her father was in the military. She also told me that there are few Filipinos working there too so for sure I will be at home. Then she started asking me few questions which hopefully I answered them right coz I applied for a Housekeeper or Dietary Aide position in a retirement place which honestly I don't have any experience working for such jobs. Then she asked me if I have questions. So I started asking her if there's lifting required, if it's a full time or part-time job, how much will be the starting wage and if there will be benefits. I don't know if that's fine asking her about those stuff but she tried to answer all my questions and even gave her business card to me if I will have questions. She told me that she will give me a call this afternoon till evening coz she still needs to interview other applicants before they will make a decision who will be hired. After that, I walked going to other businesses asking them if they have job openings right now. Few gave me their application forms but most of them don't have job openings but they are so nice wishing me luck for my search, that's so encouraging to me even I didn't know them personally. There were few I went to follow-up the job applications I submitted online. One said they might be hiring by December so I'd better call by Oct. 1st and keep my online application updated in their website. The other one just asked for my name and ss# and said he will just give me a call after a week or so if they will need someone. The last one said the HR Manager was not around so he just gave me his name and phone number so I can call him later on. Good part of it, those companies are just walking distance from one another but the bad part is I need to walk coz I don't know how to drive and it's raining.
Well I just got home few hours ago after such long day of walking trying to apply for a job. Wheeww!!!I thought there are lots of opportunities here as most people in other countries think but it turned out to be not true coz it's not that easy to apply for a job especially for people who just came here from other countries and don't know how to drive.
Right now, my phone is ringing so I am so excited to answer it hoping it will be the interviewer but it's my beloved husband who's calling. I am still waiting for her call till tonight. Hopefully they will hire me coz I really want to work for elderly people. The last thing I even told her before I left was that I am looking forward to work for their company. Anyways, I am still hoping somebody will give me a call with good news today so it will pay off every walking I did. Wish me luck....Hopefully I will have a job the soonest possible.
My blog is about anything whether small or big issues in life like our health, works, businesses, relationships, religions, fashion, etc.
